I’ve never had to start a preliminary blog post before, and I’m sure when I look back at this years from now, I’ll wonder what the heck I was thinking. But anyways – here goes nothing.
My name is Mrs. P² – let’s face it, Mrs. Planning Perfectionist is a mouthful – and I’ve been noodling around with starting a blog for well over a year now, but couldn’t decide on the direction it should take. While I have many interests, it seems like there’s a blog for pretty much anything nowadays, and I didn’t want my efforts to get too lost in the masses.
I’ve been following Jenny Lawson’s blog for a while – for those who don’t know, I’ll wait while you acquaint yourselves with The Bloggess (http://thebloggess.com/)… as I was saying, I’ve been following her for some time, and I realized how much I adore her honest and humorous writing style. While I in no way equate myself or my writing to a New York Times bestselling author, her blog has really inspired me to share my thoughts and stories.
Hence this labor of love – The Planning Perfectionist. Take the title with a grain of salt as the tagline is truer than anything – things really do go according to plan maybe 70% of the time if I’m lucky. I’ve come to realize that planning is an intrinsic part of my personality, and I have way too much experience and more than a few stories about how my planning has succeeded, and how it has spectacularly crashed and burned. Mr. P² can heartily attest to this as I’ve planned and re-planned our future at least a dozen times, to varying degrees of accomplishment.
So for whoever is reading this, I want to say thank you. We live in a busy and unpredictable world, and choosing to give a new blog a few minutes of your time is so very much appreciated. I’ll do my absolute best to keep you entertained with my current and future planning endeavors, as well as stories where it all went to hell in a handbasket (getting locked in a Roman toilet stall anyone?).
All the best,
